GM appears to repurpose Saturn Outlook parts on new Acadia

General Motors introduced the company has updated the 2012 GMC Acadia Auto Show in Chicago yesterday, and if you were careful, you may have noticed something curious on the vehicle. While the new Acadia looks better than its predecessor, significantly, some components of the design seemed more than a little ‘family. On closer observation, it seems that GM has simply repeated elements of the now defunct Saturn Outlook crossover on the 2013 Acadia. Both vehicles seem to share the same wrap-around rear window, tailgate, and tail light openings exaggerated, square fender arches. Continue reading

Volvo has made a point to make – surprise – the safety of its plug-in vehicles at auto shows latest. Now, at the Detroit Auto Show, the Swedish automaker showed off the XC60 Concept Plug-in Hybrid gasoline, a way to evaluate the U.S. response to the idea of ??a plug-in CUV Volvo. Why? Because this concept is directed towards the U.S. and Chinese markets – in a different guise and with a lot of changes – in “a couple of years.” That means something like 2014-2015. Volvo’s first PHEV here could be a model XC60, S60 or perhaps, Volvo said Stefan Jacoby, president and CEO.
