Shelby Cobra 50th Anniversary Reunion

2012 marks the 50 th anniversary of the Shelby Cobra, and it seems ol ‘Carroll and his band of hot rodders are intent on celebrating the legendary roadster for the entire year. In January, Shelby has launched a series of events of national importance 50th anniversary with the debut of the Mustang Anniversary at the Detroit Auto Show, and earlier this month, the company showed the first Cobra and the new 2012 Shelby 1000 at New York Auto Show.

The celebration of the most recent happened last weekend at the Wally Parks NHRA Motorsports Museum in Pomona, Calif., where dozens of Shelby Cobra owners gathered for a meeting of the 50 th anniversary created by the team at Shelby Pacific Coast League. All types of Cobras in the crowded parking lot in front of the museum, from 289 powered Cobras slab sided originals side-oiler 427 Cobra continuation to modern models.

Museum in addition to the Cobras rallied in front, so the NHRA has a significant display of vehicles dubbed The Merchant of Venice speed.
