Aston Martin releases details on 2012 Virage Coupe and Volante
Aston Martin has taken the wraps of its new Virage Coupe and Virage Volante. Both models are based on the automaker’s VH architecture – so they’re “all-new”… kinda – and are meant to slot in between the DB9 and the DBS in the lineup. The bonded aluminum chassis, with aluminum, magnesium and composite body panels, receives the familiar 6.0-liter V12 rated at 490 horsepower and 420 pound-feet of torque. The standard transmission (a rear transaxle) is a six-speed automatic “Touchtronic 2″ gearbox, helping to deliver a 0-60 time of about 4.5 seconds and maxing out at a top speed of 186 miles per hour. Mini Rocketman Concept
Mini’s latest production car – the Countryman – may be the automaker’s largest offering to date, but now the brand known for its pint-sized fighters is returning to its roots with its latest concept. But this isn’t a preview of the next-generation Cooper – oh no, no, no – it’s the Rocketman (cue Elton John). At just over 11 feet long, the bug-eyed little hatch is slightly shorter than a base Cooper hardtop and uses a unique three-plus-one interior seating arrangement. It isn’t gonna be a long, long time before we see the Rocketman in person, either – the concept makes its official debut at the Geneva Motor Show next week. Continue reading

The first generation of Bentley’s Continental range spawned as many variants as its engine has cylinders. Volvo Adds Fuel-Efficient DRIVe Variants to S60 and V60 Range
Volvo is expanding its S60 and V60 lineup in Europe with the introduction of more fuel efficient DRIVe variants. Both versions use the upgraded 1.6-liter diesel engine that complies with the Euro 5 standard and is mated to a six-speed manual gearbox. The S60 and V60 DRIVe models also benefit from the use of a start/stop system, with the end result being low fuel consumption and reduced emissions. Continue reading
Leaked Italdesign-Giugiaro Volkswagen Concepts
Giorgetto Giuigiaro and his Italdesign studio have a long history of collaboration with the Volkswagen Group. In addition to having designed the original Golf and Scirocco, Guigiaro has penned a whole slew of showcars for the German automotive empire from the volkswagen W12 concept to the numerous Seat designs, to say nothing of all the Lamborghini and Bugatti models over the years. But the relationship between Italdesign and Volkswagen grew that much closer Volkswagen Italdesign concept 2when the latter acquired the former last May. Now close to a year later, we have our first glimpse at the first product of that collaboration in the form of two concept cars. Continue reading
